Lake and City Homes Realty is proud to announce the addition of demographics to its flagship Madison WI real estate website! Three new batches of neighborhood-specific information now appears under a new tab, "Get Local", conveniently located on all our Property Details pages. As a result, we think our Madison real estate site truely qualifies as a one-stop shopping destination for those interested in buying Madison area real estate!
As you can see in the screenshot to the right, our new Get Local tab has three distinct information groupings:
- Nearby Amenities
- Nearby Schools
- Neighborhood Information
Under the Nearby Amenities tab, the names of businesses are shown along with the relevant business category and approximate distances from the subject property. In addition, the businesses are conveniently mapped above. And if you click on a business name it appears labelled on the map. You can also see the company's street address and phone number.
Under the Nearby Schools tab the names of all nearby schools, colleges, and universities are listed, along with their street addresses and phone numbers. In the screenshot here I show how easily you can find a school on the map (in this example, Edgewood College) just by clicking on its name. For instance, here I clicked on "Edgewood Campus School" to allow the corresponding label to be displayed on the map (you can subsequently make that label box disappear by closing it). You can also access any school's website (most schools do have a web presence) by clicking on the link labelled School Website.
Finally, click on the Neighborhood Information tab to get information in the following categories:
- community characteristics for that property's zip code
- population statistics
- financial statistics
- crime rate information
- weather & climate
- nearby locations
So please, click on the View button for any of the featured properties on our home page (or feel free to run your own search) and then click our new Get Local tab to give it a whirl! This is a really great feature Jolenta! Congrats on yet again pushing the tech envelope when it comes to showcasing Madison real estate for sale! I am a strong believer in giving too much information when it comes to buying a home. The more information you can give a buyer upfront, the more targeted their home search will be. Hopefully this means less time looking at "potential" homes and more time looking at the top choices!

Just like all the national websites out there (only better!), you're rockin it! :) The great thing about having demographics on a local website is the great information that you can give people about the market you specialize in everyday. They don't have to go to the big, anonymous, national sites out there which means buyers get a much more personal web experience. Love it!

Because we are getting close to retirement we are looking for a place to summer that also has good amenities. We are Univ of Wis Platteville graduates and have a lot of ties around Madison. I don't know how we ever ended up in Mich, but maybe it's because our daughter and son-in-law are MSU graduates. Lake Mendota looked like a good place to spend some time, so I am looking at the area as a possible reitirement spot. We are going to the Iowa/Wis game this weekend and will look at the Madison area in our free time. Hope this helps you in our search.
