Originally part of the Town of Blooming Grove, Monona was incorporated as a village on August 29, 1938. Today Monona has approximately 8,000 residents. Known as "The City of Pride", Monona has a lot to boast about: it's located on Lake Monona, it has endless outdoor recreational opportunities (including over 30 parks and nature centers), high-performing schools, and a thriving economic climate.
