Hiking and biking trails criss-cross the town, including a significant stretch of the 1200-mile long Ice Age National Scenic Trail as well as the 41-mile Military Ridge State Trail. The Verona Area School District is the 36th largest of 437 school districts in Wisconsin. The student body consists of 4,900 students. Verona high school has a very high graduation rate and ACT test scores are consistently significantly higher than the state average. There are four elementary schools, two middle schools, and three charter Schools.
