Wow, that month flew by, didn’t it? June is staring us in the face and if you won’t be vacationing we’ve rounded up a couple of ways to have fun right here in Madison.
JUNE 4
Komen Madison Race for the Cure
Run or walk (5K) through the Bay Creek neighborhood and help raise money to fight breast cancer. After, celebrate the disease’s survivors with entertainment by Charizma and at the Kids for the Cure area. Everything gets underway at 8:20 a.m. at Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center, Downtown. Get details online, here.
10th Annual Cars on State
The highly anticipated classic car show returns to Madison’s State Street for its 10th year and, as usual, admission is free. Drool over the more than 100 autos and trucks that will be spread out over six blocks, from the State Capitol to the UW campus. This event will happen rain or shine from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Learn more online, here.
Burgers & Brew
Are you starting to get the impression that Madison is packing a month’s full of events into June 4, you may be right. And, here’s another for you to consider. Both Saturday and Sunday enjoy local hamburgers from some of Dane County’s best chefs and local craft beer – the perfect pairing, in our opinions. It’s happening in Middleton at Capital Brewery, 7734 Terrace Ave. You can buy tickets online.
JUNE 10 – 12
2016 C Scow Sailing National Championship Regatta
The gorgeous Lake Monona is the setting for the Lake Monona Sailing Club’s National Championships. You’ll be able to watch more than 30 boats compete on what will hopefully be a beautiful Madison weekend. Head to Olin-Turville Park at 1156 Olin-Turville Ct. in Madison. Get details on the National C Scow Sailing Association’s website.
JUNE 15 – JULY 27
