If you are looking for a great time then you might want to spend a day at the beach. There's a lot to do on the beach; play in the ocean, build a sandcastle, or just enjoy the view of the ocean. There are lots of beaches to explore in Madison; here is where you can find them.

There are twelve beaches in the city of Madison Parks. There are ten of these that have lifeguard services. You can find out about the condition of the beach daily through the Public Health Department, they're always on top of it. They beaches are divided into regional, neighborhood, and unstaffed.

The Regional Beaches

The regional beaches are BB Clarke Beach on Spaight Street, Olbrich Park Beach on Atwood Avenue, Tenney Park Beach on Johnson Street, and Vilas Park Beach on Randall Street. These are beaches that provide lifeguard services during the season.

The Neighborhood Beaches

The neighborhood beaches also provide seasonal lifeguard services for the most part, just check before you swim. The neighborhood beaches include Bernie's Beach on Gilson, Esther Beach on Waunona, James Madison Park Beach on Gorham, Olin Park Beach on Olin-Turville, Spring Harbor Beach on Norman, and Warner Park Beach on Woodward.

The Unstaffed Beaches

The two unstaffed beaches are Brittingham Park Beach on West Brittingham and Marshall Park Beach on Allen.

Most of the beaches are well-maintained and monitored to make them great places to spend an afternoon. Remember dogs are not allowed on any beaches in Madison and you are not allowed to feed any of the water fowl.
