Even though Easter is right around the corner, there are still many fun activities to be had in the Madison area! Start the Easter festivities a day early with the 8th Annual Easter Hat Parade on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010. Children can design their own hat and walk in the parade starting at the State Capital Building to Carroll Street. Registration and hat design begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Great Dane Pub and Brewing Company, along with activities including face painting and balloon sculptures beginning at 11:30. Prior to, an Easter egg hunt on the square will begin at 10:15. Baskets, bags, and containers should be brought to the hunt for collecting eggs. Eager children waiting to meet the Easter bunny can wait no longer! Meet the infamous bunny on Easter Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the East Side Club at 3735 Monona Drive in Madison. A buffet is available for purchase, but if you are attending only to meet the bunny, the event is free to members and non-members. Don’t feel like cooking on Easter? The Edgewater Hotel is offering an Easter Sunday Buffet Brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with the last seating at 5).  The Edgewater will be offering a variety of foods from chef-carved ham and prime rib, chef-prepared omelets, vegetarian options, assorted poultry and fish entrees, vegetable sides and dishes, salads, Easter eggs, breads, and much more!
