About Lapham Elementary School

Lapham Elementary School, located on Madison's Isthmus, just off East Washington Avenue, serves children in grades K through 2. The attendance area is bordered by the State Capitol to the west, First Street to the east and Lakes Mendota and Monona to the north and south. Marquette Elementary, Lapham's "sister school," serves kids in grades 3 through 5. 

Lapham employs 23 full-time teachers, giving it a student-teacher ratio of about 11:1. Parents appreciate the Lapham Lookout, the school newspaper that keeps them apprised of events and other items of interest. They also enjoy volunteering with the Lapham-Marquette Parent-Teacher Group , which welcomes all parents who want to play an active role in their child's education.
