Contemporary style homes are easily recognized by their unusually placed windows, exceptionally clean lines, and atypical mix of materials. Originated by Frank Lloyd Wright, Prairie/Craftsman style homes are found in two distinct styles--boxy and symmetrical or low-profile and asymmetrical. Prairie styles are distinguishable by full-or partial-width porches framed by tapered columns, overhanging eaves, and exposed roof rafters
