Cape Cod style homes are distinctively square or rectangular one-story structures with gabled roofs and unadorned fronts. Contemporary style homes are easily recognized by their unusually placed windows, exceptionally clean lines, and atypical mix of materials. Originated by Frank Lloyd Wright, Prairie/Craftsman style homes are found in two distinct styles--boxy and symmetrical or low-profile and asymmetrical. Prairie styles are distinguishable by full-or partial-width porches framed by tapered columns, overhanging eaves, and exposed roof rafters
