View from Lake Kegonsa, Fall of 2010This beautiful photo of Lake Kegonsa in all its fall glory was taken last weekend from the clear blue waters of Barbers Bay near Colladay Point on the western side of Lake Kegonsa in Stoughton WI. I was struck by how calm the waters were and how clear the skies were - an absolutely perfect day for a lake excursion in what is not quite the middle of October. Pretty amazing considering some of my friends and clients have already stored their boats away for the winter.

A few things you'll want to know about Lake Kegonsa: Lake Kegonsa is located a mere 15 minutes from downtown Madison WI at the end of the chain of lakes. It is 3,209 acres in size with a maximum depth of 31 feet and boasts some of the best fishing in the area including Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Large-Mouthed Bass, Small-Mouthed Bass, and Panfish (the latter being the most plentiful). The next time you're near Lake Kegonsa be sure to stop and enjoy the views from the dockside tables at Springer's restaurant - the service is fantastic and the food is good there too!

I saw this post and was immediate intrigued by the beautiful colors and calm waters of Lake Kegonsa.

I too would like to share a Lake Kegonsa secret known only to a few that live on the lake. The large mouth bass are easily caught right off the pier!

What an amazing photo and blog! Lake living is so calm and serene. There is always something to do and these communities are often more welcoming and have a great feel to them compared to the quick rushes of city life.

I had a small cabin on a similar lake in central Michigan and absolutely loved fall there.

What a beautiful picture...makes me feel so good just to look at it...serene and relaxing. It reminds me alot of Mt. Kemble Lake in Harding, New Jersey.

Jolenta,

I've enjoyed exploring your entire site. Very easy to navigate and very well structured. Some of the blogs I have seen are not nearly this professional. Keep up the good work!

Wow, I wouldn't think you could have such a beautiful day in nearly October that far north. That's amazing. In the Seattle homes market, I work with, we can rarely count on days like that.
