Lake Monona Architecture

Homes on Lake Monona are often quite stately and situated on generous sized lots. Unlike homes on more densely populated parts of other lakes, it is not unusual to see large ranch style or contemporary style homes with walkout lower levels on Lake Monona. Views of Madison's state capitol from a number of the homes and condos on Lake Monona are nothing short of spectacular.

Lake Monona Lifestyles

Lake Monona is open to boaters and water sports enthusiasts. If you love ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-kiting, ice skating, doing the polar plunge or snow sculpting, Lake Monona might be your next lake home destination! In the summer, Lake Monona residents and visitors partake in sailing, fishing, water skiing, party boating, kayaking and canoeing. As part of the chain of lakes in the Yahara Watershed, Lakes Monona and Mendota are connected. So if you want to be out on the lake all day and keep moving around, there's no reason you can't do so on these two big, beautiful lakes.
