Tomorrow is the first day of November and the month promises to be, as usual, a busy one with tons of events in Madison. If you need a breather choose from among some of the fun Madison events in our November calendar.

November 4 and 5

Holidays Galore and More

Kick off your holiday shopping at Attic Angel Association’s holiday shopping event. You’ll find holiday décor, stocking stuffers, made-in-Wisconsin food treats and Green Bay Packer stuff as well. You won’t go hungry either because there will be a food table with local goodies, coffee baked goods and more. Proceeds from all this shopping help fund local groups that assist kids ages 3 to 5 in learning to read. Shop between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, November 4 and on Saturday, November 5 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The location is at the corner of Old Sauk Rd. and Junction Rd. in Madison. Find it on the map, here.

November 5

Police and Fire Charity Ball

You’re invited to help support the Goodman Community Center and the Madison police and fire charitable foundations by dining, dancing, singing and swinging at the Police and Fire Charity Ball. This is a black-tie event and you’ll enjoy a cocktail hour to start the night, accompanied by dueling pianos. After that, you’ll be seated for a scrumptious dinner (you do have a choice of a vegetarian entrée). The rest of the evening features interactive activities, a DJ spinning the hits, silent auction and raffle (one prize is a trip to Las Vegas!) and more. You must purchase your tickets in advance. You can do that online, by clicking here. The ball is being held at Monona Terrace, 1 John Nolen Dr., in Madison.

Herb Faire at Olbrich Botanical Gardens

Shop for the more earthy folks on your guest list or pick up fresh herbs for Thanksgiving dinner. Vendors in attendance at the Herb Faire offer teas, bath and body products and baked goods as well. You’ll also enjoy several speakers. Best of all – admission is free. Get there (the Bolz Conservatory at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave, in Madison) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
