Certified Residential Specialist
The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS®), offered by the Council of Residential Specialists is the highest designation available to sales associates in the residential sales field. Since 1977, the Council has awarded the CRS designation to sales associates who have demonstrated professional accomplishments in both experience and education. Currently, there are more than 39,000 active CRS Designees.
Fewer than 4 percent of all REALTORS® hold the CRS designation. They earn a medium income of $110,000 each year based on data from the 2007 NAR Member Profile. That's nearly three times that of the $33,200 median income earned by the average REALTOR® who sells residential real estate. They complete an average of 26 transactions per year and have average gross sales of $4 million dollars annually.
